Every call.
Every creature.
Snakes in stairwells, owls in air shafts, monkeys on highways. Our volunteer rescuers answer the call day and night, and every animal we can save goes back to the wild.

Who we are
Neighbours who answer when the wild comes to town
Wildlife Welfare Association is a non-profit organisation that began in 2013 by rescuing reptiles and other wildlife in Thane and Mumbai. We work alongside the Maharashtra Forest Department and other government agencies, and today our volunteers cover forest ranges from Mumbai to Sawantwadi.
We rescue and rehabilitate injured or distressed wildlife, and run awareness programmes so that people and wild animals can share the same landscape safely. Our members come from every walk of life and give their time out of love and respect for wildlife.
How a rescue works
From a phone call to the forest edge
-
01
Report
Someone finds an animal in trouble and calls the helpline. The case goes into our rescue app.
-
02
Accept
Every rescuer on duty is alerted at once, and one of them takes the case.
-
03
Rescue
The rescuer recovers the animal safely and records its species and condition.
-
04
Release
Healthy animals go back to suitable habitat. Injured ones are treated and released when fit.
