Rescued this 4.5 ft Spectacled Cobra from a dry water tank in Bhoomi Society, Ghansol

Recently our Rescue team member Akshay Yesale and Rohit Shinde rescued this 4.5 ft Spectacled Cobra from a dry water tank in Bhoomi Society, Ghansoli.

We suspect that cobra might have fallen in the tank while chasing its prey. Luckily, few good samaritans noticed the reptile and contacted us for help.

It was rescued safely with proper care and after informing Thane Range Forest Office it was released back in the green zone.

Summers are equally challenging for the snakes as they cannot regulate their body temperature on their own. Hence, they need to rely on the external environment to maintain their body temperature. If they feel overheated they often go near a water source to cool and regulate their body temperature.
