Three kittens of a Jungle Cat seized from Hotel in Dahanu

On 1st February 2018 three kittens of a Jungle Cat were seized from Atithi Hotel, Charoti Naka which were kept by hotel owner illegally within the hotel’s premises.

The information regarding this was received by the Wildlife Welfare Association volunteers through confidential source along with some photographs.

After confirmation of exact ID of those jungle kittens by an expert we informed about this to the Dahanu Forest Department and then along with the local forest guards went to that hotel to enquire about the kittens.

After an enquiry of hotel owner it was came to know that he didn’t know that they were Jungle Cat Kittens and assumed them as domestic cat kittens which according to him were given by the tribal people of nearby area.So the owner kept them in his premises.

Since owner didn’t cause any harm to those jungle kittens and took care of them, we didn’t file any case but made only panchnama of the incident.

Currently the kittens are in the custody of the Dahanu Forest Department. Further we will try to reunite those kittens with their mother.

We want to thank Mr. Ladkat(DCF) and Mr. Vade (RFO) for helping us in this operation.

Great job Rohit Mohite and Omkar Kolekar ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
