Injured Eagle Owl rescued from Parsik Hills

On 27 June 2017 our helpline received a distress call from a responsible citizen Mr. Yogesh Futane about an owl being attacked by the crows at Nandanvan Society,Parsik Nagar. Our volunteer Sushil Gaikwad rushed to the spot and found that it was an Indian Eagle Owl.

He rescued it safely and informed the Thane Range forest office regarding this. The owl was completely drenched in water and unable to fly. After examining he found that there were no external injuries. He did first aid and later took owl to the vet. We will release it once it is able to fly and declare fit by the vets.

It is pretty rare to find Indian Eagle Owl in the city. Nature always surprises us.
